Douglas McFarlane, CEO of LOMOND YACHTS, was born in Clydebank, Glasgow in January 1961, in a family of six. His father, John Douglas McFarlane, was a shipbuilder on the Clyde which included the QE2.
After spending most of his youth visiting launches and building models of those he saw, Douglas trained with the Royal Yacht Association before helming a 45-foot yacht around the West Coast of Scotland with Royal Bank of Scotland Sailng Club.
Before moving down to London he spent most of his time on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond in his 26' Bayliner moored at the exclusive Cameron House Marina. This gave Douglas his passion for Super Yachts and the inception of LOMOND YACHTS.
LOMOND YACHTS works with clients and partners around the globe, in order to provide a concierge service from initial research of buying a Super Yacht, through to launch and ongoing vessel management. This includes chartering, bespoke design and build project management as required.
LOMOND YACHTS begin a journey with their clients, first by understanding their client's needs: style, budget and application of their future yacht project.
They research the best shipyards, brokers, owner's representatives and any other options they see viable to assist in the specified project. At this point the client's shortlisted information is uploaded onto the LOMOND YACHTS website where the client can view via a protected password on their secure website. In this space all available brochures, documents and plans can be reviewed.
LOMOND YACHTS works in the interest of the client, following through on each project with sea trails, surveys, legal representation, financial advisors and even launch event organizers.
